What are PDO Threads?
PDO (Polydioxanone) threads are absorbable sutures that were initially developed for use in cardiac surgery procedures. PDO Threads help stimulate collagen and elastin fiber production, which in turn smooths and plumps the skin. Some threads are also designed to lift sagging skin. There are many different types of threads, but the main function is to either lift and plump sagging skin or smooth the skin to diminish fine lines and wrinkles and even fill in acne scars.

A special numbing cream is placed on the skin, and additional anesthesia is used if needed. The threads are placed in the area that needs treatment by placing them under the dermis. The thread is automatically released when the needle is removed.
